National Auto Research is best known for publishing the highly respected Black Book family of vehicle valuation guides. The organization was founded in 1955 in Gainesville, GA by three businessmen who frequented local, dealer-only auto auctions. Realizing that having accurate market values would help them make better buying and selling decisions, the three began writing down and tracking auction prices from week to week. When other dealers requested copies, the three started publishing their sheets weekly. Within a few years Black Book went from a hand-written tally of the week’s local auction results to a nationally recognized provider of the most accurate vehicle valuations available.
Today Black Book maintains facilities in Georgia, California and Maryland and provides values, specifications, and other relevant information in multiple formats. We maintain our own printing facility, enabling us to produce printed pricing guides in a timely manner. We also deliver data via electronic data feeds, internet-based real time applications, hand held PDAs, and other custom products.
Users know they can count on Black Book to provide accurate valuation information for new and used vehicles including domestic and imported cars and light trucks, exotic and collectible automobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, and heavy duty commercial trucks and trailers.
