RICKY BEGGS has been Black Book’s managing editor since 1990 and currently works hands-on with an experienced team of 13 analysts and editors to arrive at the values published by Black Book for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The amount of available data, the additional sources of information, and the formats in which the data is available have all changed dramatically since Beggs first joined the editorial department in 1981, and he has helped keep Black Book at the forefront of the industry.

Beggs serves as Black Book’s spokesperson at many industry conferences and for industry publications. He is a corporate board member of the American Motorcyclist Association and the Car Certification Committee of the IARA.

Beggs earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia in 1976. He and his wife Vicki have two sons, Will and Jake. His personal interests include working on his ’73 VW Thing, motorcycles, college football, gardening, fly-fishing and sports trivia. He spent 20 years officiating high school and college basketball and baseball games before retiring from that hobby in 1996.
